F(r)ictions is a semi regular film screening series based in London focusing on experimental DIY film and video

F(r)ictions was founded in 2018 in order to build a space for film and video: somewhere to show unfinished work, video art, pieces that are too abstract or too experimental, that can't or won't be shown in most other spaces.

Check our events section for the next screening and past events.

F(r)ictions is hosted and conceived by Anuka Ramischwili-Schäfer with technical support from Sopo Ramischwili-Schäfer.

"Since 2000 150 queer spaces have closed in London, which was at the back of my mind when founding F(r)ictions. I’m hoping this space can be somewhere to show unfinished work, somewhere for film to go places.

In my own film work i focus a lot on unpicking race, gender and caste systems in a west asian diasporic context and always continuing to question. I think this translates into what I see F(r)ictions enabling. Film to me can zoom into moments, drag stories out, provide threads for you to deconstruct something. it’s about the long story, the fact that there is always more. The point to me is that there isn’t an end, it’s all about thinking and continuing to think…"
